Your wonderful piece, "Is 'He' Real..." was right on target!
He is definitely real. He brought my late wife Linda and I together (I can guarantee you we were both WAY too shy to do it on our own), He guided us through every moment of our courtship, engagement, and marriage. We left everything in His hands and He did not disappoint us!

You spoke of His acceptance of all people: "...especially the misfits, unwanted, or undesirables". You could not have been more right there, either. I already said He brought my late wife Linda and I together. Had I not listened to Him, I would have missed out on the best years of my life. The kicker? Linda was an epileptic, with the Grand Mal seizures. But the love and devotion He gave us for each other could not have been any stronger, or deeper. And this was in the 1960's when people were afraid of epileptics, especially those with the Grand Mal seizures. If you want to know more about Him in our story, let me know. Also, look in my port for a folder titled, "Too Short A Time Together."

SUPERB, HONEST WRITING. I loved every word of it. I could tell you wrote from your heart, and that your belief, and faith, in Him, is definitely real.

I have never seen or heard these ideas expressed better than you do it here, dear. You may have written it in 2002, but it's even more applicable today than it was then.

And it needed to be said. I pray that it is read far and wide for others to learn, and avoid the situations of denial that others foisted on your dreams. Definitely up to your usual high standards, honey.

This, and pieces like it are just one more reason I'm so very proud of you.

I agree with this. Why?

"Doing the homework" is doubly important when the book / theme involved is any kind of a non-fiction, how-to, or similar book, like the one you critiqued about extra income for seniors. Those will affect the lives of countless people the author doesn't even know, who trust what they read.

The bad publishing (upside down, backwards, pages falling out) would be an immediate turn off to me, as it was to you. I doubt I'd finish reading one of those, either.

As for bad/no editing,I've commented to you more than once about the way a former English teacher and I would trade stories about the atrocious grammar, punctuation, etc. we each have found in emails, memos, etc. in the past, even while we were on the job together as contractor computer programmer / analysts. There was so much of it, the tales we shared never stopped.

And as for wanting a piece to be the best it can be before it's presented to the world as a finished product, that's exactly why I haven't done anything with the book yet. There are still a couple points about it I'm wrestling with, and why I'm up to the 8th draft overall. So I can FULLY understand why some famous authors admit to taking years to get their books published. That ache to be a writer also means caring enough about the quality of one's work to want / need the peace of mind of knowing we've done the best we cound, and being comfortable with the impressions, both first and lasting, that our work will leave with those who read it. This one is a no brainer.

Finally, the basic thought you express here is also very true, and important: that writing begins in the heart, and grows until the ache it creates becomes one that must be satisfied. I couldn't have said it better myself. I felt that starting back in 1980. Been there, done that.

Thanks for putting all this into words so well, and so accurately.

Supernatural or not, this teaches a great deal about love. What it means to put the one you love above yourself. Thinking only of them. A lesson many today could well afford to learn.

I'm putting this in the Romance / Love newsletter this week. That lesson, and the wonderful way you tell it here, deserves to be read by others.

Kactus, this is FANTASTIC! The vivid mental pictures your excellent words and dialogue bring to mind are wonderful. And the insight we get into the main characters just by observing them and listening to them is excellent. Don't change a word! I'm putting this in the Romance /Love newsletter this week. It HAS to be read. I know I'LL be reading it again! Keep up the wonderful work!
