the rain that patters on the brim
sallows a golden grim
sallows with the old roof rust
drips down
drips down
down
down
down
to muddy dirt and wet dust

the rain that patters on the brim
pauses and smatters again
pauses between beating beats
null sound
null sound
sound
sound
sound
lulls subtle exquisite sure sleep

the rain that patters on the brim
wilts away to blue sunny wind
wilts like a baffled blossom
to sun blazing splendor
awesome
