Crime doesn't take coffee breaks.
At the Diner

In a corner of the diner
sit navy uniformed men,
shiny badges catch the light.
Clink of chipped coffee cups.

Who is minding the street?
Crime doesn't take coffee breaks.

Across town, business as usual;
money and drugs exchange hands,
a woman huddles in a corner, crying.
Blades flash and blows fall.

Those who took the oath to
Protect and Serve drink coffee...
