The hard contrast between dreams and reality
SHATTERED DREAMS

My mornings are a nightmare,
My nights are a blessing,
Full of hope and dreams in which,
Like pain, there is nothing.

One night I dream that hunger
Is a thing of the past,
Everyone has provisions
For a lifetime to last.

Another night I dream that
The world is full of peace.
No bombs fall down from the skies.
The babies sleep with ease.

Sometimes I even dream that
There’s universal love
Amongst men as was ordained
By the Father above.

But all my dreams are shattered
As the rays of the sun
Bring the reality that
A new day has begun.
