A rodeo cowboy meets his match.
The Wondering Cowboy

My heart goes to you
Every time we are together
But they are rare

I hear the gate open
As if there I had been
The crowd starts to roar
When you spur for more

The last time you left me
My heart broke completely
I begged you not to go
But you had to make your show

Your trip is round and round
For winner’s circle you are hopeful bound
The spurs jingle
And your body tingles

A home I hoped to make together
But you are as flighty as a feather
Will you ever settle down I wonder
The phone ring sounds like thunder

I’m not sure whether to cry or not
From the news I just got
Seems you met your match
When they opened that latch

I no longer have to worry
If towards me you’ll hurry
For I never have to see
You standing there before me

Only your ghost can haunt me now
I’ll have to ignore it somehow
But it won’t be around much
You’ve never missed my touch

Your heart will no longer beat
I think it was only half; it never was complete
Footsteps of yours will never be heard
You have finally said your last word
