A terrible tribute to some socks
Cushiony cotton,
grungy and worn constantly,
now ripped at the toes.

I wash you daily
hoping you won't fall apart
and disintergrate.

Though my toes protrude
from those huge holes in my socks,
I love you dearly.

Because I'm too poor
to buy myself some more socks,
I hope you make it.
