Written about the pain of my daughter
Don’t Take My Little Girl

We once were a family
Our sons, our daughter, you and I
Then you decided we weren’t meant to be
And now our daughter cries

She loves her dad
And she loves her mom
If you could just see how sad
Our little girls has become

When she is with you
She lashes out at me
Here she cries too
Since the split, she is angry

So my Ex , we both love her
I don’t care about your new life
I just don’t want our little girl hurt
Her small heart to be filled with strife

I know we have no world
As the couple we once were
But we have two boys and our little girl
Raising them is our chore

Don’t take a piece of my heart
And turn it against me
That isn’t acting smart
It’s her you hurt, you see

If she misses me and the boys
Just tell her of my love
And bring her home with joy
Robert, she is our gift from above.
