I'm experimenting with form & style
Satan's got my name

We met at a bar, a corner pub
Over a gin & tonic -
         Sweet
         & salty.
He wanted my number,
But I told him my name instead.

Glass after glass,
The liquid cooled and warmed,
And we danced until dawn.

I circled on my tiptoes,
Barely touching the ground,
         Circling,
         And circling.
Until the room spun
On its own.

He asked for my number again,
Just before the sun peeked
         Over the dead horizon.
But I only gave him my name.
         Singing,
         And singing.
Only my name.
