Obama’s bid for presidency is an uprising of the black ferment.
WINDS OF CHANGE

Winds of change are there to see
A black man soon preside.
But even if he does not,
The winds will not subside

Such winds did arise at the
Second Reconstruction,
When a black, Rosa, asked for
Unfair laws’ reversion.

She ultimately did win,
Brought respite to all blacks.
So will now Obama win
Despite initial cracks.

But I do believe, even
Though he may lose this time,
US can suppress no more
Blacks’ aspirations prime.

If not now, in near future,
The blacks will get their due.
If they don’t, the whole country
Will be steeped in black hue.

• Second Reconstruction—It refers to the period 1954-1968, which is described as follows in the Wikipedia:
“Western societies introduced legislation that tried to remove discrimination on the basis of race, gender or disability. The Civil Rights Movement in the United States refers in part to a set of noted events and reform movements in that country aimed at abolishing public and private acts of racial discrimination and racism against African Americans between 1954 to 1968, particularly in the southern United States. It is sometimes referred to as the Second Reconstruction era”.
