my take on the modern fairytale
Here, out of the stories, the tales and the fables;
Born a frog, always a frog
The princess saved herself
The dragon keeled over when it failed to exist

When the children grew up

Second born, never truly grew into himself
Last born, least loved,
The ugly duckling of his mother’s eye

The princess, who never did have flowing locks
Never was rescued, look at her now-
Chained to the railings, she finds herself

Hans Christian Anderson – who? – they don’t care
Their fairytale never happened
They didn’t get their happy endings

Life goes on
