When the young pollute, the old quit.
POLLUTED WORDS: a sonnet

When words are too polluted all around,
Why listen to the crap and suffocate?
It’s common sense, no need for wit profound,
To seek fresh air we need not hesitate?

The cruel poison of those seeming barbs,
It gnaws the vitals in the course of time.
And even if disguised in pleasant garbs,
Ungrateful children speak abuse sublime.

Why lament if a window is found closed?
Why not open up another instead?
The weathered ones are with wisdom endowed,
They can turn into love what was hatred.

Let them persevere, even if senile.
Jeering at the old is but infantile.
