when there was darkness during the day...
Dead on arrival

When they said good-bye,
Jennifer and Joe,
we well-nigh thought
we’d meet them,
come Sunday.

The later events
still send shock waves,
on and on into
what feels
like an eternity.

If only they had
a camera that’d
show pictures of tomorrow,
when devils among humans
would destroy their dreams,

their simple joys
their contented lives!
Joe and Jennifer,
let me tell you,
were on the plane

among the ill-fated hundreds
that  were dead on arrival.
