A reality realized a dream
Lights were dim with shadows everywhere
My spine began to tinge
And I received goose bumps on my skin with the night air
From a distance, I heard a footstep.

Slowly, cautiously, footsteps came my way
I sucked in my breath, trying to be quiet
But luck didn’t seem mine today
Because as I turned my head, I saw.

Somehow, a blood-curdling scream came out
The shadows stopped and disappeared
And I saw no one now, no one about
I looked, but no trace of anyone was there!

Then I heard a sound somewhere near
With a dagger in my hand
My heart began to race with fear
And my eyes lost all focus.

Someone pushed me from behind
And I started to fall
The wind was harsh
And I began to jerk

And then I realized I was dreaming
Although my heart was scheming.
