Sometimes the poems come through the kindness of friends who inspire.
WHITE THE ROSE

Borrowed from an e-mail, to go with my poem -

White the rose that adorns my grave,
the petals soft and pure as the snow.
So still the air, so blue the sky -
and yet here I lie...here I lie.

I didn't want to die.

White the rose that with memories linger
of passion's promise left to God's will.
Gone the love once so honestly given,
now here I lie...here I lie.

I didn't want to die.

White the rose in bridal bouquet,
add the touch of lavender grace.
You were mine for just a moment,
time to leave, to say goodbye.

I didn't want to die.

White the rose in summer's glory,
long-stemmed beauty, yet with thorn.
Cutting deep into my soul and spirit
Never to see another blissful morn.

I didn't want to die.

White the rose, the life has ended.
Summer's glory has faded away.
Memory fades as do the petals,
long gone the bridal bouquet.

I didn't want to die.

White the rose that adorns my grave,
the petals soft and pure as the snow.
So still the air, so blue the sky -
and yet here I lie...here I lie.

I didn't want to die.
