The beauty of washing dishes
I positioned the white plastic dishpan in the sink,
I squirted in glob of concentrated Palmolive dish detergent
Then I turned the hot water on and watched the bubbles form
As the dishpan filled, I felt an urgent
Desire to place my hands into the soapy detergent;
The hot water felt like a pair of wool mittens on a snowy day.

Item by item I placed the dishes into the hot water,
I took a clean dishrag from the kitchen cabinet’s bottom drawer,
Then plate by plate, cup by cup I did the dishes,
After I rinsed the clean dishes, I looked around the kitchen for more
And found I was finished washing dishes, so I swept the floor;
Doing a excellent job with the dishes is a good way to pray.
