Poem about the Sea
The Sea

Sparkling diamonds on cobalt satin,
Covering the past and beckoning onward.
Rippling waves carry gulls and boats,
Regrets and worries, still often, hope.
Where the sky meets horizon,
Beyond the reach of scrutinizing eyes.
It remains intact and unreachable,
Perfectly still.  Wise.
Bluer than blue.

Carry away the weight of the day,
These burdens I bring to you.
Take these rocks I hurl in frustration
Into your swirling depths below
This cliff where I stand with more in hand,
Still many more to come.
The crashing waves drown out my fury,
Reduce me to a child.
Bluer than blue.

Strength and tears spent,
I'm renewed again.
The tide is slowly turning.
A few stones removed from the shore,
Now rest on the ocean's floor.
Shifting here and rolling there,
Shrinking in size over time
To become the sand we might walk upon today.
Newer than new.
