A visit to a wonderful place that left me breathless!
Oh! Mohonk

Lilacs fill the air, lingering sweetly on a gentle breeze.
Cherry blossoms, pink and pearly, reaching toward the sun,
Where they’ll braid tender petals upon bountiful branches.
The steady scents surrounding this majestic scene are intoxicating.

Breathtaking views be-feast the eyes,
Bewilder, enchant and submerse,
All of your being into a cocoon of respite
Which revitalizes the soul, swiftly yet controlled.

Marked by shadows, the hills take their bow
To ease out of a long day’s attention to the woodlands.
Small creatures scatter, to secure stations for the night, while
Rustling the dried leaves of a past season now forgotten.

Darkness does not have to accept that pure form, as
Beams of the moon cast shapes akin to mobiles over cribs.
Such magnificent artwork we often see displayed in picture books.
Yet before me stood this glorious majesty, in one, twenty-four hour day.
