Sometimes it is the smallest of things that make you miss someone even more...
I wrote this after my boyfriend went in to jail (he is now out and we are doing great!)

I woke up this morning
and laid there.
listening.
waiting.

listening for a movement of some sort.
waiting for the sound of your voice.
listening for something familiar.
waiting for you.

i woke up this morning
and heard the robin
singing it's morning song.
but not you voice.

i woke up this morning
and remembered
that you wouldn't be here
when i awoke.

i miss our shared warmth.
our laughter together.
your eyes and their gorgeous pool of blue.
i miss it all.

i woke up this morning
and felt the loneliness
well up inside of me
because my everything wasn't there.

before I even realized
what was going on
I felt it,
a slow steady stream;

a slow steady stream
running down my cheeks
its finally happening
the tears wont be held back

I didn't want it to happen
I was scared it wouldn't
I feel so empty
and alone.

You were
and still are
my everything
my all.

Every moment
of every day
day in and day out
I listen for you
