And the innocence of our childhood fades like the warmth of the summer sun to return again
Goodnight innocence

Might we meet again someday

But for now your day has ended

So lay down your weary head

Upon the pillow, soft and cool

And make your new home there.

Goodnight childish innocence

Your time has come to pass

The light of day

Will fade you away

So goodnight dear sweet innocence

Your time has come to pass.
