THOSE THREE WORDS

"I love you."
I look behind.
Who could those words be for?
It must be me. But why?
They're only empty spaces.
He glares into my eyes.
Seemingly expecting.
But what?
What can I give?
What can I say?

He stands, looking as in despair,
Waiting, expecting.
But why?
Why did he bring himself here?
For I cannot follow.

I do not know the path to those words.
Those three words.
I do not know the reason of his despair.
For I do not know the meaning of those three words.
