A little ditty about loss.

You're out of my sight and I'm out of my mind.
                                                I put up a fight, but the years are not kind.

You're out of my life and I'm out of my head.
                                                I walk with the living but envy the dead.

How can I go on, without mind and soul?
                                                How can I live when my heart is a hole?

You loved me once, and that must sustain.
                                                Memories of you umbrella me from the rain.
