A light-hearted free verse poem about IBS. The humor might not be enjoyed by some readers.
Really? Right Now? Can't this wait?
You are so persistent. Every time.
Why must I drop every thing
to be at your beck and call?

You do not negotiate.
When you growl, I must heed,
lest you push until I sweat.

Cooped up in this tiny stall,
my home away from home;
answering your call,
I wait until I'm the last one.

Your barks make me blush,
but I refuse to acknowledge;
I hide behind my embarrassment.

Natural you may be,
socially acceptable you are not.
Because of you, I will always be in pain.
Because of you, I will never be accepted.
