Even the Titanic managed to get itself sunk.
WITHERING WORLD

My world she’s gone. My life is flat.
The storms of change have seen to that.
The sky is dark and the ocean black.
My old ship is sunk upon its back.

All hands are lost upon these waves.
I live to envy their watery graves.
Forced above against my will.
Sputter and cough, I live still.

A shipless captain, an empty shell,
Stuck now in this lifeless hell.
Walking alone on castaway beaches.
Long dead fingers stretch their reaches.

Sucking the life and casting stones,
Stealing the life from my very bones.
No weapon formed will me save,
No way to fight a hateful grave.

The truth is buried in unmarked plot.
My hearts red blood, marks the spot.
No one cares to find the treasure,
In a man with no measure.

All is lost and run aground.
No matter what, I’m still around.
An empty life with open hand.
Withering world is where I stand

Never to love and never to hope.
I’ll just do my time and learn to cope.
It’s clear now for me to see.
There's no one there for me.
