When all hope is lost
I sit encased in a block of ice
No fire inside can melt
For I can't find the spark
With which to light the flame.

There is no life inside this frame.
No appetite for food or sex.
I do not want your touch
I do not want your pain.

I do not wait for warmth of sun
Nor daylight's saving grace
Just let me lie here numb and cold
In my self-imposed grave.

It is my only form of peace
Surcease of love and hope
Redemption is not needed here
Just leave me in my hell.

If I could summon up the strength
To care of where I'm found
I might bemoan the tragic loss
Of spirit sank so low.

Brick walls do enclose me now
Let naught of light within
Darkness does enshroud me now
Deep in my private hell.
