A method of renewal.
Whenever my mood starts to wane,
when my élan is less than whole,
I look into the starry night
and feel renewal of my soul.

Whenever spirit goes downhill,
when giddy-up is on the shelf,
I look into the sky at night
and feel renewal of myself.

I find the stars are comforting
although I know they’re far away;
but even in their afterglow
I get a charge from what they say.

They twinkle with their light-year light,
their size determines their own fate;
though they be distant points in sight,
to me they still rejuvenate!

They are a tapestry of life,
like painting that is “Starry Night;”
somehow they get into the soul--
I see van Gogh perceived it right.

When current gets a bit too low
and life has gates with iron bars,
I look into the black of night
and simply plug into the stars.
