A poem about The Earth's last day
As night falls, a single star shines
Shineing down above the earth, solo and lonely
Lonely and defeated as the human race, as the earth burns
Burning of fire and the flesh of corpses, rotten and discarded
Discarded bodies lying flesh exposed, as the single star shines

The army marches on, stone faced and hard as the smoke rises in the sky
That sky which is black, nothing to see, nothing to dream. The black invades the night
That Night which draws ever on, with the rubble and ash scattered across the land
The same land that is walked upon by those with no heart, yet plenty of greed
Greed to grow taller, larger, fatter and spread their power across the cosmos

The sun cannot rise, as the smoke shadows its glow among the earth
The Earth is dead, and those of its inhabitants died alongside it.
Its over. We lost and those who came to claim are victors of what is left
Leftovers will be savaged and swiped, to the mothership that hovers around the smoke
The Smoke begins to cease, and the sky returns, but the damage is done
