A rhyming poem about aspiring young athletes taking the field.
You take a couple swings,
Then you shorten your approach,
For these drives are such stings
That require a good coach.

Take nothing for granted,
In this dog eat dog world,
For all must be candid,
When their flag is unfurled.

But might shall make right,
In this latest opportunity –
These kids are out of sight,
And so happy in their unity.

These children of scorn
Shall continue to play;
It’s with power, they’re born,
And it happens their way.
