How the world sees you and how you see your self
The Mirror


To succeed in life, one must play a part,
An image there is to protect.
To the world at large,
I project a façade
Of confidence and strength.
But looking in my mirror,
I wonder……

How could they get it so wrong?

The real me is but a shade,
A picture on a wall.
Unobtrusive in the background,
A scared shadow observing all.
The child who worries on the future,
And all that it may bring.
The real me is locked away,
Too afraid to sing.
