Brilliant glow of magic, blazing heat of exertion, shattering of the barrier; still he struggled to believe.
They had done it! Stranger mages had bested Usha, by extension the Empress herself!
Mud, burnt windswept vegetation all around. His magic whiplash from the foursomes workings? He would ask them; outside the barrier, and into new life.
