A poem I once wrote about somebody I loved. Naturally, the tigers woke up.
SLEEPING TIGERS

Too perfect for me.
Too vulnerable in the darkness
Still lingering.

This time it will be different.
No monsters in the dark,
No blood.
This beautiful touch;
I cannot stop dreaming,
On a rocket ship space ride
Through moonbeams in the sky.

That fated night
You cradled my safety net
In your hands
With your fantastic smile –
Those tiger eyes.

But I am suffocated,
Find myself berated.
In your straight world
I see myself again –
Where I drown in your affection
You will drown in my pain.

You will tire of the violence
And the lack of silence,
All the icicles,
Those invisible sins.
The bikini tan
With nothing in.
The dream that I have carved
From stone.

Too good for me;
I am trapped in fear,
The day those sleeping tigers
Shall awaken
From my garden.
The scars appear
And I will drown again.
