A walk beneath a mysterious moon.
I walked beneath the lunar light
to calm myself and mend my fuse;
yet when I looked into the night,
the moon was purple as a bruise.

A purple moon dims down the sky
since ebon skies and white offset;
And as I walked I wondered why
the moon looked like it had regret.

I noticed oak and grove of pine
beyond the walks of cold cement;
A purple moon did not align
with diamond-studded firmament.

I heard the crickets bicker;
the wind came whipping from the west.
Fireflies began to flicker,
but it seemed like a light protest.

I looked up to the leafy limbs
to see if glimmer could be seen;
but then I saw when moonlight dims,
there is no night highlight for green.

I came upon the sandy shore
and heard the waves slap on the stone;
There was a loss of keen decor
because of bizarre moonlight tone.

There was a dimming of the moon;
the purple hue transformed the mood.
The summer sky was out of tune,
and all of nature seemed to brood.
