Our souls were once united...
I had awoken to the birds’ sweet tune
when you came calling late one winter’s day.
You led me through a dazzling labyrinth
where at the end you then asked me to stay.

Our souls to be forever united;
a bond so strong we never thought would break.
The sun had risen on our youthful love.
A lasting life the two of us would make.

But now the years gone by, I sit and stare
through my window as raindrops pour like glass;
glass that cuts my face where teardrops stain.
I fear that this will never come to pass.

The skies cry rain for we have parted ways.
The sun is setting on our seasoned love.
Though I feel I cannot live without you,
like a phoenix I must rise high above.
