Will my cry be heard, or will silence fall?
I am an Echo

I am an echo of thunder and light.
I wonder when I'll fade away.
I hear the chatter of silent voices,
I see their words on the screen.
I want to be heard, so I roar and I cry, yet
I am an echo of thunder and light.

I pretend I am confident, I pretend I am proud, yet
I feel vulnerable and small.
I touch the soul, the heart, the mind.
I worry no one will care.
I cry, all alone, a voice in the crowd,
I am an echo of thunder and light.

I understand they see me, yet I'm not there.
I say words that cannot be heard.
I dream of standing in the glow of the sun and
I try to walk in the light
I hope to break out the shadows, but now
I am an echo of thunder and light
