Affected by a new food.
While in the mood for better food
I came across a geek.
He offered me a chance to see
new waffles for the meek.

He winked an eye and said that I
would sure enjoy the taste.
“Please hurry now, it’s certain chow,
there is no time to waste!”

Despite my need I must concede
to hesitating some.
But in the end I felt will bend
and geared my idle bum.

The geek displayed a ready made
hot plate within his van.
I asked, “Can you make them on cue?”
The geek replied, “I can!”

I saw the plate had not a trait
of rise for waffle hole.
I had the urge for verbal surge,
yet kept my self control.

When they were done I noshed on one--
a twinge arrived within.
Make no mistake, I ate hot cake
and felt my patience thin.

A geek one day on the roadway
gave me new food to try.
But now I know, as crazes go,
I’ll always question why.
