Poem I wrote when I was 13 years for a regional competition - got published
She is an ancient forest;
Grey ash and green beech,
With dancing birch
And the bright red berried rowan.

She is a bramble growing
On a mound of bones.
She is a creeping root,
Remembering.

She is both terrible and beautiful
Both dark and fair
And her soul is of the earth, belonging
There rooted in stone and seed.
Black and pitiless.

She has many names
Rhiannon of the underworld,
Blodeuwedd of the owls,
Angharad of the lake and
Carridwen the shape changer
But she is all and one.

She has the same purpose as the land
Creation and death
She gives life and destroys it.
