what it might feel like if inanimate objects could think
Alighting on my thoughts

Her words come flooding back to me,
As I sit and wait,
darkness clings on to me now,
as with thoughts I do debate.

Could this be the moment,
my heart begins to race,
as straining at my cord,
footsteps gather a pace,

It is, yes I'm sure it is,
some one walks this way,
oh let it really be,
that hand turns night to day.

dainty lil footsteps,
come leading to my side,
as a pretty finger,
makes sure my needs aren't denied

Then oh yes it happen
as light floods the gloom
this is joy my mother spoke of
as the lamp lights the room
