Internal dialogue of an introvert
I hear you rattling the door to my cage.
Come out and play, you say!
Come out and play!

But the door is locked from the inside
I locked it myself
I locked it to keep the world at bay

I see the army behind you
A smiling, friendly army
But an army non the less

The smiles feel like snarls
A predator ready to pounce
Ready to tear out my soul

In my mind I fling open the door
Sweep into the welcoming throng
And bask in the warmth of smiles

But the door is locked on the inside
I locked it myself
I locked it to keep the world away
