Aftermath of a devastating war.
A rose pedal floats gently,
To the scorched earth below,
A single flower blooms quietly,
In a struggle to grow,
Buildings lay destroyed,
Their windows shattered,
The earth quite annoyed,
Its beauty left tattered,
The rivers are gone,
The sky looms grey,
At the peak of dawn,
The sun remains away,
Creatures are non attending,
Lost in the ash,
A shade completely blending,
As it spreads like a rash,
The fire is gone,
Extinguished by its aftermath,
The bombs continue to spawn,
With a fierce wrath,
This war never ends,
For years it has pressed on,
The people who were once friends,
Have their curtains now drawn,
The planes run low on fuel,
Their pilots worn out,
But their weapons remain cruel,
creating further drought,
Life is scarce,
And the little that survives,
Carry tainted hearts,
Filled with lies,
Life is unsteady,
We were all wore,
Were we really ready,
For the terrors of war?
