a little poem in aabb style
I was rudely awoken one day from my nap,
by the curious sound of a continuous tap.
Under the ferns, he was making some shoes,
the noise was the hammer the leprechaun used.

I grabbed him gently, I thought that was best,
and caught him firmly by his little vest.
"Okay, you win, you get the gold,
but let me go first, release your hold!"

I said "nuh uh, I know your tricks."
Then hung him up,in a tree,on a stick.
"What is the secret, I want to know,
where is your gold, beneath the rainbow?"

"First close your eyes, tight as can be
believe in the gold, then you will see ! "
I did what he said, silly to trust,
opened my eyes, saw his tracks in the dust.
