For those who served.
What can we do to honor those
who died when fighting flared?
Good men and women served the States,
united they all cared.

Arrange the flags half mast today
for all victims of war.
It’s freedom and democracy
that they have battled for.

In sadness we remember well--
the price they all did pay.
It is just right to honor them
for each beautiful day.

Democracy and freedom are
the privileges we share,
bought by the blood of patriots
of land and sea and air.
