A sonnet for an African politician
"Follow my smiles , now that hot pains crush you,

Degrading you with wicked smiles of hell.

Come now that strange pains becloud your view,

Disturbing you wit tunes of Satan's bell,

Step out my son beyond the creeds of pain;

Beyond the fervid blows that make hearts sting,

Come on - destroy the works of idle vain ,

The idle works of ill in vicious ring."

' I hear your voice beyond my aching smiles,

I see it clear in tongues beyond compare.

Now that sweet love descend upon human riles,

I leave my cage to come and be your pair.

"Mandela boy, you upturned hate for love,

Come take your crown and smile with Heaven's Dove
