A poem I wrote a while back. (edited 09/10/14)
Her lips were Egyptian satin with a taste of honey and vanilla.

How I stared at those lips, quivering with grace and unforgiving desire.

She smiled, and my heart began to flutter.

It was radiance incarnate, as if the sun would bloom

Each time her heart would fill with such happy thoughts.

Her laughter entranced me with its infectious dancing.

I craved it, as I craved her.

The warmth of her pleasant breath,

The softness of her soothing touch,

The fulfillment of two broken pieces coming as one.

My heavenly Frangipani, how I wish to be yours.

Let me be part of your melody

Do not take the peace I so desire from me.

I saw the petals fall,

I felt the heat rise,

And the devil sing its spellbinding tune

Yet, I am met with silence.

An all encompassing hush

The rivers won’t stir while the winds sigh

As an angel with a shielded heart glides.

She lands upon the frozen riverbank

And I am met with her.

A seductive presence with her illustrious Gioconda smile.

I felt like a child upon the floating cliffs,

A beating heart with mimicked wings upon shoulders.

I wish to soar above, to be one with her.

To have crimson meet blue.

But, alas, she is the sun and I am Icarus.

This revelation weighed heavy upon the heart

And I, the fool for such grandiose dreams.

I cannot meet her gaze, and turn from heart’s affection

For God has weighed me upon the scale

To find me wanting and unworthy.

She approaches with amusement,

A delicate outstretched hand of silver before me.

Mortal coils and burdens chain me in place

But the heart… How the heart sings true.

This is the sign I was looking for.

The sign I desired.

I take her hand and throw all caution to the wind.

O, be still my gentle heart, for we are at God's mercy...

And hers.
