The Velvet Mourning

Silky, silky, silky
Slips right by
Silky, silky, silky
Better say goodbye

Can you feel the heartbeats right beneath the stone?
Can you tell how long they've been gone?
Every day, another one added to the rhythmic beat
But no, we're never gonna admit defeat

These memories ain't ever gonna go
Because, we will always know
The tragedies committed
The ones you won't admit
We're looking forward to the future
To when you end this torture
But that time ain't in sight
So you'd better enjoy the limelight
While you've still got it
Before we rip you from it

Our skin keeps going cold
With all you say, so old
A constellation of pain
Ain't nothing you're gonna gain
We're gonna beat you
Until you bleed black and blue
And I can't believe
That you still breathe
Still spew that propaganda
And I'll kill you, kill you, for Miranda
I'll make sure you fall
'Cuz you don't know it all

You could save them all,
Save them all
But you sit on your throne,
A fake king
Can't believe I ever kissed that ring
You've got the power
But you didn't deserve it, ever
Got all the way up there with lying and deceit

We'll watch you burn
And well take your turn
Watch the destruction
Of your so-called "perfect nation"
The cities covered in ashes
Started with some gasoline and matches
And if I die, you'd better pray
That you stay
Because I'll watch everybody bleed
And bring the world to it's knees

And our hearts
Are built from broken parts
We are the angry and the desperate
We are the burning and the cold
Tired of doing what we are told
Now hear the rhythm of our heartbeats pounding away
As we march to the rhythm of a timebomb ticking away
We bled just for you
And our dreams didn't come true
You ruined the lives of millions of children
And that's something that won't be forgiven

Hear the sound of the sirens blaring
And you, bitch, had better be wary
Of the order that's new
Because we're coming for you
Can you feel the needles buried in the red?
Because you're lying on your deathbed.
