If one were an object, what would that be?
What AM I?

A flood of lies, intolerance,
and hate flows around me.
It cannot displace
the innate identity
though it mars one's soul,
leaving it half empty.

Then remembered kindness
and love that heals all pain
washes away the ugliness
in a gentle sheet of rain.
Gasping with relief,
the soul's half full again.

The viewpoint is transparent
as optimism is inherent.

I am a glass.
