I kissed a frog one fine day.
I went to the pond with the lily pads floating;
(I kissed a frog one fine May.)
I went to the pond with the algae abundant;
(I kissed a frog one fine day.)

I don’t know why I would feel desire;
(what would inspire me?)
I don’t know why I would desire croaking;
(what was provoking me?)

I walked through the woods where the pond then awaited;
(I kissed a frog with intent.)
There on my lips I detected a presence;
(and it was not Heaven sent.)

I don’t know why I would search such a being;
(was I just being me?)
I don’t know why I would lip smack a slimy;
O please don’t remind me!

I strode to the pond where amphibians frolic;
(I kissed a frog on the lips.)
I got to the pond with those green warty beings;
(I kissed a frog just for kicks.)

I don’t know what made me think it was cricket;
(was this long overdue?)
I don’t know why I would feel frog yearning;
maybe I’m learning to.
