When my wife goes away

She’s gone again, just for a bit,

A day, a week, just some respite,

I’m on my own, no one to pry,

Not held to task, to answer why,

And still with freedoms yet untried,

I sit, I stare, try to decide,

I could, I should, indulge myself,

Partake of sin I’ve been denied,

Instead I sit and watch and wait,

For her return, back by my side.
