One of many poem's to be included as a companion to my first novel "Absence of Light."
The clock ticked to twelve
The darkness covered the earth
He could only blame himself
In the hours of twelve
The world would soon freeze
An everlasting cold
Say goodbye to the sun
There is no one here to help
He claimed it was his soul
That helped the world to hell
Admits he has lost
Finds himself in his shell
Who is there to blame
When the world rests in pain
Tell me the secrets of old
I'll trade you my ring of gold
Please tell me the end is near
So I can sink to the depths below
All I see is darkness
Past Midnight
