Hope

Darkness. Absolute and closing in.
It’s terrifying and unforgiving.
Confusion. You can feel it swirling around your head,
as the abyss clasps its maniacal claws around you.
Helplessness. It’s all you feel. It’s all you know.
Escaping it seems impossible.
Light. You catch a glimpse. You gain Hope.
You writhe and fight amidst the darkness.
You Pray. You seek God, and suddenly
Freedom.
