Truth

I’m sorry is a list that never seems to end-
I’m sorry is a wish, of all the could-have-beens.

I’m sorry are the lies that we have always told-
I’m sorry are the truths that we have always known.

I’m sorry is the hate hidden in your face,
I’m sorry is the pain that I cannot erase.

I’m sorry is the stitch that’s sown up along my side,
I’m sorry is the song in every last goodbye.

I’m sorry is the empty, that now fills our bed-
I’m sorry is the only thing that echoes in my head.

I’m sorry is the carving I’ve sketched into my arm,
I’m sorry is the only truth now that you are gone.
