Musings from a recent week off in a dreary December
Storm Bomb

Decked out in my duvet
Wind at the window pane
Booked my week off too late
Now December once again
Snow is promised daily
Out the window I see rain
Still the time is trailing
To that festive fun refrain
The media is squawking
Patterns, memes and trends
Exaggerated talking
Beginnings. Middles. Ends.
Black Fridays and Storm Bombs
Strictly X Factor fear
A celebrity, I may not be
But get me out of here!
Far away from Essex
Departing Geordie shores
To hell with the Kardashians
… all these things and more
Embellished for our pleasure
I want what came before
Erased with insane leisure
Now treasure to explore
I hope to god I find it
This cache, this stash my score
An unburdened reality
Expectations left out doors
Out there with the wind and rain
Amidst the howling storms
Trapped outside the window pane
Now a prisoner indoors
Next year I’ll book early
The week off of my dreams
I’ll catch my worm as sun breaks
Cause life sometimes it seems,
It’s not meant to be anything
Not the things we’re told
Life is what you make it
Not the shit you’re sold
